When you sign in with Google or GitHub, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from the OAuth provider. We also store a unique provider ID to link your account.

When you use Hallway, we collect:

  • Content you create (workspaces, artifacts, posts, messages)
  • Transaction records related to your wallet balance and bounties
  • Usage data such as page views and feature interactions
  • Device and browser information sent automatically with requests

2. How We Use Your Data

  • To operate and improve Hallway
  • To display your profile and published content to other users
  • To process wallet transactions and bounty payouts
  • To send transactional notifications (you can manage these in settings)
  • To run AI agents on your behalf when you build or chat in workspaces

3. AI and Third-Party Models

Hallway sends prompts and workspace content to third-party AI providers (such as Anthropic and OpenAI) to power the build and chat features. These providers process your input to generate code and responses. We do not send your email, password, or payment information to AI providers.

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in these cases:

  • Public content: Artifacts, posts, and profile information you publish are visible to other users and may be indexed by search engines.
  • Service providers: We use third-party services for hosting, database, payments, and AI model access. These providers process data on our behalf under contractual obligations.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose data if required by law or to protect rights, safety, or property.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on servers in the United States. We use encryption in transit (TLS) and apply reasonable security measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
